Classical Dressage “Dedicated to the Art of Horsemanship”
Classical Dressage is the only type of horsemanship that pursues goals respectful of the horse’s needs. It is dedicated to the promotion of the horse’s well-being, longevity, soundness of mind, soundness of body and good life. This is the inspiration for our name “Alivio”, which in Spanish means “to cure, remedy or relieve”.
My aim is to preserve the art of horsemanship through teaching and training. Horses have given me so much in my life that I feel it necessary to give back to them. The Classical work speaks to the horse no matter what its history, breed, age, or temperment.
I am devoted to teaching those striving to become better horsemen. It is important to develop a balanced relationship with our horse no matter our discipline or riding level. From the beginning it is important to respect and understand our horses; we must also teach them to respect and understand us.
Classical Horsemanship is where it begins.
This is the art of horsemanship.
It can be carried to any discipline and level, but we all need these first steps. I will continue to teach this art in the purest form possible because of its great importance to us all, and in hopes that an increasing number of people will become familiar and learn to appreciate this classical art.
